Water Conservation

Maximizing capacity at the Budd Inlet Treatment Plant remains a LOTT priority, consistent with public values identified during LOTT's long-range planning process. To help accomplish that goal, LOTT works with the three City water utilities (Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater) to plan conservation projects that cost-effectively reduce wastewater flows.

Coordinating Committee

An interagency Water Conservation Coordinating Committee plans and coordinate implementation of the various water conservation projects. Facilitated by LOTT's Community Relations Specialist, the other members include water utility staff from Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater.

Coordination Plan Update

The current Water Conservation Coordination Plan was adopted to guide the program from 2007 through 2012. The Plan includes a goal of reducing wastewater flow by an additional 530,000 gallons per day by 2012. Plan activities are funded through LOTT's Capital Budget to support programs that reduce water going "down the drain" to the Treatment Plants.
